This is a nice, clean store. People are friendly. I go in the evenings usually and Seth who works nights always has a smile and is helpful as is a young woman (can't recall name) who also works nights. Good customer service and clean store.
Great experience every time I go in to the 192nd location. Employees are friendly, helpful and the location is always clean. Always a great shopping trip!!
Surprisingly good. Went to pick up fish for pond. Someone came over right away and was helpful and knowledgeable. They had what I wanted. Had stopped going there because of bad experiences in the past. Went 10 miles away to a different pet store. This store is about a mile away. Go there for dog grooming and Camille is great with my skitterish dog. Gave fish people another chance and glad I did.
Went in today to get a quick item, leaving my dogs and husband I've the car (ac on, it's hot). There was a decent line but only one cashier, so there was a bit of a wait, but I had no issue waiting patiently for my turn. The woman in front of me was apparently a bit short on some deal where you spent $60 and got $20, the cashier, Seth I believe was his name, explained the deal and offered to let the woman grab an item. The woman asked of he could suspend the transaction while she did because I was the only other in line at that point and she didn't want to make me wait. I said thank you as she walked back and he took my item to the next register. He scanned my item, asked if I had a phone number for their rewards system, I said no. He asked if I wanted to enter one, I said no thank you. I finished the transaction, went to take my item and the cashier actually threw the receipt at me. I'm not sure what I did do make him behave so rudely but it did ensure that I will continue to prefer petco on millplane over pet smart. I'm a quiet person by nature but far from rude, and I was shocked that even the most basic customer service skills were lacking. I worked retail for years, I am far from an unreasonable customer, that was the closest I've ever been to demanding a manager. I will never shop there again.
Went in for a snail only to see all 20 ish we're dead. Every single one. One was floating around at the top. And I told this the the sales associate and she said they were fine and tried to sell me one. They also don't know anything about most of their fish. Left with nothing and went to Petco. Not going back.
