I sincerly hope the director of the emergency department sees this. I took my significant other in for cold blue finger tips and was "cared" for by Delvin Jones. Our experience with him was TERRIBLE. He was short, had an attitude, and really did not seem to care AT ALL. I had questions and i was disgusted by his attitude with his responses. Said he would be back in 15 minutes and over an hour goes by and i have to find someone to get him back in our room because my SO was in PAIN. I could go on... terrible provider!
On my way out, I collapsed in the parking lot. Out of my mind with pain for I don't know how long, I was eventually surrounded by people laughing at me, and a nurse who just kept scolding me for swearing. I apologized, and asked for help THREE TIMES, and they turned their backs on me. The officer clearly explained my right of Triage, which was to accept admittance (and an indeterminate wait), or to NOT accept triage, and move along. The staff was snickering at me the whole time. It was humiliating, and disturbing to think that this is a Catholic run operation. Unbelievable, shameful, and a little scary.
Don't worry. A friend came and picked me up, and I am fine. I have an appointment with my Primary doctor, and I'm sure I can get care for my muscle spasms. I'd also like to note: I just wanted to talk with someone, I refused meds on the ambulance ride, because I had taken my own prescription... I could see someone being chased away for appearing to be an addict, or something... But for extreme pain? Seriously?
Was taken via ambulance, (Which was Stellar! Thanks Mike!) then dropped into the ER reception room with no instructions, no nurse, and after a while of screaming in pain, and a 30 second check in where I was given a bracelet and a scowl, and grudgingly, a wheelchair when I fell on the floor. A while later, after terrifying some poor kids right where they wheeled me, I decided to go find more immediate assistance. They had dumped me from the stretcher, in front of a lobby full of small children, screaming in pain. I swore once, then clapped my hand over my mouth and apologized. I decided I wasn't going to get immediate help for whatever these muscle spasms were, and decided to leave. On my way out, I yelled out at no one in particular a few choice words about the customer service...
I've delivered both of my sons at phsw women's center and had wonderful experiences both times. The doctors and nurses were so caring and well trained. My first baby was preterm and I was confident that he was getting the best care. With my second baby I had complications after delivery and the doctors quick reactions most likely saved me from needing surgery. I would recommend this hospital for any woman looking for a place to delivery her baby.
Sometimes extremely long wait times. Not always the friendliest staff. But overall good service. Great for heart issues!
Great staff that came running to assist me as I walked in the front door carrying my six year old daughter. They immediately asked what the issue was and got a wheel chair for her. Then after a quick check in at the front desk, they took us back to a room right away. Everyone from the front desk staff to all the staff that assisted us until we left were very professional and great. Thank you Dr. Jensen and all the nursing staff for being so attentive to my baby girl and her situation. I knew that I could trust you all to do a great job after being well taken care of myself 8 months ago for a heart condition at this hospital. I appreciate the follow-up by the Dr. the day after to check in on my daughter. She is doing great thanks to you all. That shows that you all genuinely care, and I appreciate that. I don't often come to the ER, but I appreciate the great staff and knowing that you can receive great care when you do need it.
