Easy to park big rig around back by turning on street just before shopping center. Gym not crowded when I come. Staff good.
The staff is inconstant at best. They tend to play on their phones, and barely acknowledge people coming in. They don't uphold the gym rules -as few as they may be. I caught some kid taking pictures of an elderly gentleman working out, and all they did was say "oh well, since he deleted it, we can't do anything." The women room is often out of toilet paper, and the spray cleaners are usually broken. I've brought up an issue about a member bringing in her toddler while she worked out. I was told it was just a few minutes. Not really sure how a half hour is a few minutes.
But as one of the staff said to me when I asked about an issue "What do you expect for $10 a month"?
Its a decent gym, except there is this person at the front named Lisa who always ignores me even when I'm standing right in front of her. Going to this gym really ruins my day that now I go out of my way to go to other gyms. I'm not surprised to see other reviews complaining about the staff here.
I've been a member here for a while. I used to go around 1 to 2 pm and the staff working then was great, always greeted you and said have a good day as you were leaving every single time. They were always cleaning and restocking. But the 3-5 pm staff ( when it is much busier) are very unprofessional. There is no paper towels at garbages many days and the staff do not greet or say goodbye to you. They don't even look up to see if you check in. They rarely clean and all of them are always standing behind the counter goofing off with each other. Besides the bad staffing the equipment is pretty limited- but it's 10- 20$ a month. You get what you pay for. The women's locker rooms/ restrooms are very clean though.
Chose this place because it was closer to home. That's about it. The staff is inconsistent at best. Half of them care the other half spend all their time messing around at the counter. I usually go during the busy times and typically there are 4 staff members working and none of them have the time to greet. It's pretty sad. But hey at $22 a month you get minimum wage service. If LA fitness wasn't so crowded I'd go there.
